My thoughts on the Glamglow supermud

I thought I'd do a review on the supermud cleaning treatment face mask from Glamglow! About 2 years ago Glamglow was really hyped up by lots of people and at that time they only owned the youthmud face mask. Since I was 16 I thought why whould I buy it, it's not like I have troubles with wrinkles at the moment. Later on they came out with other face masks and that's when I tried out the Supermud! Side note: The product has won the "Reader's choice" award by Allure.

It's supposed to help with pimples and blackheads. I had a lot of blackheads in my T-zone, especially on my chin. Now there are less of them, but I still struggle. Back then I had never found a product that removed them. So that's the main reason why I wanted to try this mask.

REVIEW

Now that you've read my intro, you're probably wondering: did the supermud help against the blackheads: yes or no? Well to be honest... It didn't :( As you can see on the picture, it really is a thick mask and when you apply it you can barely move your face because it's so tight! I was really happy with that because it means it really gets into your skin and it will do something!

After taking the mask of for the first time I immediately went to look at my blackheads and sadly they were still there. Even though it does not work for my blackheads, this is the second jar that I have bought. That's because I do see a difference in my skin. When I take the mask off, my skin is really bright. Also I have oily skin and especially on my nose the oil really builds up so this mask gets rid of that. The mask also dries out my pimples, so sometimes I will only apply it on a spot just to dry it out.

HOW TO USE

You can choose to apply it to your face wet or dry. Also you can perfectly apply it with only your fingers, but I prefer to use it with a brush. I bought the Real Techniques core collection and since the foundation brush is a brush I don't use, I use it for applying my face masks now. Apply it on the parts of your face where you think you'll need it and avoid the eyes (as for every mask I think, unless it's an eye mask of course). Leave it for about 15-20 minutes, but you can see it dry on your face. So I'd say take it off when you see it's changed colours.

So overall I recommend this product, but for me it doesn't help to let the blackheads disappear. For some people it does help, so I suggest you try it out for yourself. The product costs €50 so I understand you don't want to splurge it on a product you're not sure of that will work, so I suggest you ask a sample at the counter.

Let me know if you'll try it out and what you think!
