NYX soft matte lip creams

For the beauty gurus in Belgium there is good news: NYX came to Belgium! But this isn't new, it has been available in Belgium (they have a store in Ghent) since the end of June. The reason why I'm posting this so late is because I wanted to try out the products first before doing a blogpost. This way I can let you know more about the brand, or maybe you already know the brand but have never tried the soft matte lip creams. Whatever floats your boat.

The lip creams that I own are in the colours Zurich and Cannes. I'm really a fan of those antique, dark rose colours and I also think darkish brown colours are beautiful. (not too dark for me tho!)

On the website "Cannes" is described as a matte muted mauve and the colour "Zürich" is described as a matte muted rose. As I already told you: basically my favourite kind of lip colours! :)

At home I had been watching Youtube videos so I knew which colours I needed to check out. But in the store these colours looked a lot darker than they were in the Youtube videos, of course every lipstick colour looks different on another person.. Or just the lightning can change a lot about the colour, but still I was kind of unsure. I panicked a little but eventually I just bought them and when I walked out of the store and was outside basically, I looked at the lip creams once again and there they looked the same as in the videos! So that was a relief and also kind of a downside that the lightning in the store makes the lip colours look a little different.

As you can see the two colours are very similar. The colour Zürich leans more towards the orange side and the colour Cannes leans more towards the dark pink side. I have been wanting to try more colours from this range, but to be honest these are the only colours that I would wear. The other soft matte lip creams are either too light or too dark.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION & REVIEW

The first soft matte lip cream that I tried was in the colour "Zürich". In the beginning I found it hard to apply, but a little later I got used to it. My first impression was that indeed it's very soft and creamy. I liked the feeling of it on my lips, but then I was waiting for the matte part...

I was also updating my friends and one my friends said to me that she thought that they stayed creamy. I did not understand why there was standing matte on the packaging then. But a good 15 minutes later I felt that it was finally starting to dry. It takes such a looooonggggg time to dry, seriously! So when it dries, it does feel a tiny tiny bit sticky, but I don't really mind it to be honest.

So next comes the part where I'm testing out this lipstick. After I had a starter and had drank a little, the lipstick was still perfectly on my lips. After my main course it started to fade a little and after dessert it was almost completely gone. I could still feel it on my lips, but I couldn't really see it anymore, but most important: it did not fade awkwardly! So I would say it isn't bad, it has the same longevity as a normal lipstick.
